A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER

I am honored and excited to welcome you to our Paint The City Purple Campaign™ (PTCP) global platform—a space created with purpose, intention, and you in mind. This is more than a website; it is a united movement, a global family standing together in our shared mission to end gender-based violence and to build safe, empowered, and supportive communities across the world.

Whether you are a long-standing advocate or joining us for the very first time, please know this:

Your presence matters. Your voice matters. And your commitment is powerful.

My journey in founding PTCP grew from a deeply rooted calling—one shaped by loss, resilience, advocacy, and an unshakeable belief that healing and change are possible. This platform stands as a testament to that belief and to the extraordinary collective strength we carry when we work together.

“Together, we are rewriting stories, breaking generational cycles, and amplifying voices that must be heard.”

Within this site, you will find resources, opportunities to participate, and meaningful ways to honor the lives and legacies of those affected by domestic and gender-based violence.

I encourage you to visit our
Purple Legacy Remembrance Page, a sacred space where families and communities can share memories, celebrate loved ones, and connect through healing and remembrance.

As you explore this platform, I invite you to engage, learn, collaborate, and find your place within this global movement. Every step you take, every story you share, and every voice you uplift contributes to a safer, more compassionate world.

Together, we are stronger. Together, we are painting the world purple—one step, one voice, and one courageous act at a time.

Thank you for walking this journey with us. Your support, your compassion, and your belief in a brighter future mean more than words can express.

With heartfelt appreciation,
Dr. Portia LaJoy Shipman, D. HUM
